About Rotationplasty (The Backwards Leg)

A brand new leg!

Rotationplasty is a rare and widely misunderstood procedure. It is used as a solution for a variety of ailments, most often childhood cancer of the bone near the knee. By removing the knee, turning the lower portion of the leg 180 degrees and reattaching it, the ankle then works just like the knee, and is fitted with a prosthetic for full functionality. Visit Shanna’s website to see a variety of videos showcasing how her backwards leg functions so well and looks so much like her other leg. To hear how she has coped, her abilities, her jokes about it, and the procedure in person, hire her to speak for your event here!
